There are no Income Tax implications on the receipt of a cash gift unless the cash gift generates interest or dividends. These would then potentially be subject to tax. Further guidance can be found here:

Hi,
If this is a government benefit paid to the individual under the same terms as benefits paid in the UK, it will be treated as such.
If not taxable in UK, then the Ukranian income will not be either. You will need to clarify what is actually received.

Hi ukcitizen,
Yes, the interest will still be liable to taxation in the UK. If tax has been paid on the interest in India, you can claim tax relief in the UK but the amount depends on whate rate of tax is applied here.
