Australia / uk double tax treaty
I live in the UK and am a citizen and resident. I work from home for an Australian company and receive my income in Australian Dollars. I am also a citizen of Australia but not for Tax purposes and I do not live there (I have no home / property / assets or anything else there). The income i get has australian tax on it and because i do not live in australia / class it my domicile i get taxed extra. i wanted to confirm that i need to request a certificate of residence from the hmrc to give to the australian government so i no longer get taxed there, so when i do self assessments in the future i will pay uk tax instead. is this correct? can someone please provide more details on what steps need to be taken. my employer has no base in the uk and i am the only person for the company that works online from another country.
