RE: Private Residence Relief When non resident and selling UK property
Thank you. We have read the notes and feel we are going round in circles. Are you able to let us know, one way or the other, if we would be entitled to this relief? Any help you can give would be very much appreciated. Thank you once again. -
Private Residence Relief When non resident and selling UK property
Hello, We are looking for a bit of help in reporting the sale of our property in the UK. We purchased the house on 31st October 1991, it was our main residence until 28th June 2008, we then moved to France, making our term of residency 16 years and 8 months. We sold the house on 26th May 2022. Are we entitled to claim any relief for the period the property was our main residence? If we are entitled to do so, is there a simple calculation? We are aware that we are only due CGT on any gain from April 2015. Many thanks. -
RE: Form SA108 & Computation sheets
Thank you, that’s helpful. Can you please advise if I need to complete the computation sheet? -
Form SA108 & Computation sheets
Hello, I reported a sale of a residential property in March this year using the CGT on UK Property Service. This confirmed that I have no tax to pay. I am now completing my Self Assessment for the tax year 2021/2022 and am not sure which sections on the SA108 supplementary sheet I should complete. As my taxable gain was 0 and no tax was due, should I put a 0 in box 52.1? The computation sheet does not allow for the fact I owned the property since 2010 but would only have been due tax on any profit since 2015. Do I still need to complete this? Thanks.
