We have an employee who went on maternity leave on 1 March 2022. We have not received a credit for her pay in March and I am now being asked to pay the full Tax and NI bill without that credit, which obviously has cash flow implications. Is there normally a delay in receiving credits for Statutory Maternity Pay? Is there something I should have done but have forgotten, we use Sage for payroll? Should I pay the full amount of NI and Tax or deduct from it the Statutory Maternity Pay myself?
