RE: First time self-assessment - Couple of Questions (Dividends / Underpaid Tax / Student Loan)
Thank you HMRC Admin 19! Points 1 and 2 are clear! Regarding point 3 - I don't seem to have a notice of coding at all on the online system (i.e. I don't have a notice that says zero underpaid tax, I just don't have a notice at all). I'm taking it that I should still enter 0 but if you could just confirm that it would be much appreciated. -
First time self-assessment - Couple of Questions (Dividends / Underpaid Tax / Student Loan)
Hello, I am filling out my first self-assessment tax return and have a sticking points that don't seem clear to me: 1) "Our records show that you have an Income Contingent Student Loan for which repayment began before 6 April 2022. Is this correct?" - I did have an income contingent student loan during the 21/22 tax year however I have recently (2023) made a payment to pay my balance off. Should I still select 'Yes'? 2) I have received income from dividends during the tax year, but all dividends (both distributed and accumulating) were for holdings inside an ISA. Do I still say 'Yes' on the "Did you receive any dividends"? 3) In the 'Underpaid tax' sections, I am asked to locate my PAYE Notice of Coding and enter figures from it. I do not have a paper copy of this, and looking at my personal tax account I am met with "You currently have no PAYE coding notices available to view." Should I enter 0 on both sections or am I meant to be doing something else here? Many Thanks,
