  • RE: Old and New UTR numbers,

So I had this issue today and here is the resolution: You must de-register your old UTR in Government Gateway ID for Self Assessment and then re-register the new UTR 1. log into your Government Gateway Account using your existing Government Gateway ID (there is no need to register a new ID. If you did, don't worry, Just ignore the new one and go back to using your old Government Gateway id) 2. select Self-Assessment 3. select Manage Account, or, if you have it, Manage Business Tax Account (then Manage Account) 4. select Remove a tax, duty or scheme from your business account 5. remove your old UTR (screen grab any payment information first or any other info you might want - -you'll lose it!) 6. select Manage Account again and Add a tax, duty or scheme to your account using your new UTR. You're done.
