  • Self Assessment exceed annual allowance - but carry forward

Hi there In the 2021-22 tax year I exceed the Annual Allowance. I put the excess of the amount I exceeded it by on the form (Pension Savings Tax Charges box 11) However, I have 'carry forward' from previous years that exceeds this, so no tax charge is due. I think from my recent coding notice that there is no tax due from previous years (dated after I completed my SA form), but my SA area of the HMRC website seems to think I owe something in respect of exceeding the AA. Is it the case that HMRC has reduced the tax due (because you have applied the carry forward I have), or not? I think from reading guidance I shouldn't have put an excess because I had carry forward, but this wasn't clear. Thank you. Has the 'carry forward' been applied
