VAT Threshold and Outside Scope of UK VAT for design services abroad
Hello. I provide web design and development services to clients registered in the EU, USA, and UK. Most of my income comes from clients in the USA which is greater than £85,000. What I understand from reading the registration requirements of VAT is that because the services to the USA are outside the scope of VAT, it doesn't count towards the threshold. Am I correct in thinking that only once the £85k has been reached for UK sales and services would I need to register? Thank you.
