  • RE: HMRC Estimated Income

Hello, at the end of the tax year my company pays a bonus based on performance. This bonus is never guaranteed, on a good year it can significantly affect my annual income. For the past 2 years I've ended up with an outstanding income tax bill. I recently spoke to HMRC who told me that I should update my estimated income to help prevent a nasty bill landing. My question is if I update my estimated income will the cost of estimated additional income tax be taken from my pay from the final 2 months of the tax year or would that additional income tax be spread over the following tax year?
