RE: Security checks
I would strongly urge everyone to contact their local MP and ask them to step in on these ridiculous tax rebate delays. We have been waiting 19 months now for a 5 figure tax rebate. 18 of those months my husband has been unable to work due to a cancer diagnosis. He has had to return to work even though he is still receiving chemotherapy as we need the money. 5 complaints to HMRC via phone/online/recorded delivery letter and not a single response from them. Nobody returns our calls and each time we get told a different story about where OUR money is. Our MP has confirmed they are now investigating, I will take this all the way to the ombudsman if I need to, I urge everybody to do the same. There a cost of living crisis and they are taking our money and refusing to return it, something needs to change. -
Missing employer
Hi How long does it take to update missing employer info? My husband paid tax on his only wage of the tax year last month as his employer forgot to give HMRC his tax code. We have been told he can’t claim this back until his employer is showing up on his records. His wages are showing and he added this employment info manually last week but it still isn’t showing? -
RE: Security checks
Robert I’m sorry to be the bearer of bad news but I created this thread 9 months ago and we are STILL waiting. Been waiting 18 months for our tax refund now and we can’t get a straight answer out of HMRC so we have asked our MP to step in. -
RE: Delay by HMRC in processing personal tax refund
We have been waiting on an £11000 tax refund for 17 months now. We were told 4 weeks then 8 then 20……….last October we were told 12-16 weeks. This week we are told the money has literally been sat there and absolutely nothing has been done with it, and that someone will call us back when they’ve figured out what the hell is going on. We are absolutely desperate my husband has cancer and can’t work and we have 5 children to feed. I suggest anyone still waiting to contact their MP and ask them to step in, this is our next avenue. -
RE: Security checks
We are still waiting for our refund. It has been almost 16 months now and we are still waiting for the £11000 owed to us. We will be getting our local MP involved if no updates by next month and if that doesn’t work we will be seeking legal advice. -
RE: Tax Refund - missed BACS request
We’ve been waiting 4 weeks for a BACS refund that has apparently been paid. Apparently there’s a huge delay on tax refunds due to a backlog. So be prepared to wait! -
RE: Security checks
I have and have been told it’s going through security checks. They said 10 days you guys have said 6 weeks so my question is, is this 6 weeks from the date it was marked as “paid” on the tax account? The whole process is an absolute joke, keeping peoples money from them when everybody is struggling. -
RE: Security checks
So as this was “paid” 3 weeks ago yesterday I should expect to see it in the bank within the next 3 weeks? -
RE: P800 tax rebate
Emily just to warn you this isn’t necessarily true. Our 5 figure tax refund was paid on June 24th and we were told 3-5 days. Then 10. Then another 10. Now we are being told 6 weeks. So although I hope your receive your refund quickly, I wouldn’t believe everything these guys tell you as we are still waiting. Best of luck -
Security checks
How long do “security checks” for tax refunds typically take? Our refund was apparently paid 12 working days ago now we are being told to wait another 10 working days which is highly unacceptable given we are in the middle of a cost of living crisis. Can’t help but feel like we’re being lied to and fobbed off.
