  • RE: Income Tax Refund - P55 SUB Form, 6 Week Delay !

    My P55 was acknowledged received by the HMRC mid May 2022. After 3 months I called them and had to wait 30 min for someone to answer. They said that the P55 had been received but was not allocated to a person. I called a month later and still my P55 had not been allocated to anyone. I was told that these waiting times were normal! It is now 4.5 months and still nothing. I complained on their website and that was acknowledged a week later. 2 weeks after that still no response! This is an ABSOLUTE DISGRACE. The HMRC have overcharged me at source as I was drawing down a lump sum from my pension and then one feels absolutely powerless to get a rebate. Any advice on how I can escalate this would be welcome. It seems many people are in similar positions but not as many months as I have been subjected to.
