I was running a payroll using the basic PAYE tool but when RTI came in and I got increasing number of prompts from HMRC to change over, I was left with the impression that their own tool didn't provide the required functionality. In fact, I remember the notices specifically listing a number of alternative tools to choose from. Does the latest version of Basic PAYE from HMRC now meet all of HMRC's requirements, and so can I go back to running my own payroll?
