hi for tax year ending 5th April 2021 i logged in this morning as in PAYE but have to do a self asessement because im over the 50K because of my medical benefits and some of taxable benefits and we claim child benefit. previously ive been putting some money aside each month so when i get to december I have the money to pay for it, check today and it shows Help about: Description (Tax year summary) - opens in a new window Description Amount (£) Tax 1,424.60 Surcharges 0.00 Interest 0.00 Penalties 0.00 Sub total 1,424.60 Less payments for this year 1,424.60 Less other adjustments 0.00 Total 0.00 I did reduced my wage last year and put more into my pension, could this be the reason that tis zero, im confused.
the company i m working for has now a final working from home policy so since lockdown i have been working from home and I will continue to for 3 days a week.
I have to submit a self assessment because im over the 50K because of taxable benefits.
I submitted under section 20 of other expenses and captial expenses of £312 which is the working at home allowance.
I have received notifcation that my tax code has changed so do i still keep it on my self assessment when i submit it?
hi everyone, can someone offer advice, not sure what i have done wrong here. I was checking my tax account because ive had some money appear from HRMC in my account today and then i noticed that i have been charged interest in 31st december 2020

hi everyone, ive received £116 in my account today, check my personal tax account and self assessment and i cannot find nay mention of why this has happened. is there a place i can check?
hi all late to party about the claiming working from home, my 2019-2020 self assessment has been completed i see that i can amend it and i will need to work out how many weeks i worked from home, pretty much from march 2019 i worked from home i went into a work a few times to collect some bits but other than that i was at home. its £4 a week isnt it?
hi could someone help me please, when calculating marriage tax allowance do you need to add benefits in kind to your taxable wage to make sure if you can claim. my wage is just under 50K but i also get 8k in taxable benefits in private medical and AA which my tax code has been reduced to 615L.
out of interest, when claiming marriage tax allowance do you need to include taxable benefits which have already affected your tax code
ive asked the same question before and i was told that you do need to declare them on the SA even though my tax code has been adjusted to 611L to take into account the the taxable benefits. i think i said something similar, if my tax code has been adjusted for the the taxable benefits why am i declaring them again on the self assessment
hi everyone, my tax code is reduced to 611L because of the taxable benefits we received at work £6418 in private medical. When i complete a self assessment should i include them if i they are already been taxed via my tax code. Am i not paying for them twice?
hi all i'm hoping this will be clear to many people.
I had a fairly large tax bill at the end of the year so im paying more into my pension and reducing my taxable income, however im also making sure I budget per month to allow for the self assessment tax bill in January 2022.
Total taxable income £49,997 (not inc taxable benefits) minus tax code (611L so £6110) that would be £6110 minus total taxable income = £43,887.00
£37,500 @ % 20 tax = £7500
£6,387 @ % 40 tax = £2554
Total tax £ 10,054.00
£ 1,582.00 Child benefit to pay back due to adjusted net income of £56,145.00
Total tax + CB pay back = £11,636.00
In theory if my wage doesnt increase and taxable benefits don't change then i would pay for income tax via my tax code wouldn't I?
so i would only need budget to pay back the Child benefit back on my self assessment so for example if i budgeted £132 a month then i would have enough set aside to pay that back.
anyone that could help to see if my sums are correct?
