RE: National Insurance and PAYE
Hi HMRC Admin 19, Thank you for your response. The issue is not to do with qualifying years because even if I didn’t include these particular years I would still be on my way to receive a full state pension. The issue is to do with the accuracy of the amount of National Insurance and PAYE I paid during these tax years. I don’t feel completely confident that I paid the right amounts because it might be that the Financial Director didn’t process these tax years properly. I could be wrong but I just want to make sure they’ve been done properly. I want to make sure that for each month on the pay slips the right amounts are charged each time. I have a P60 only for the 2010/11 tax year and I have pay slips for the actual period I was working there but not when I wasn’t working there but I still received money (Part of my Dad’s salary.). Would this be sufficient or would I need to gather more information such as the pay slips for all 5 tax years and possibly the P60s for all 5 tax years so that someone can take a thorough look at each month and make sure the correct amount of National Insurance and PAYE is taken? Thanks -
National Insurance and PAYE
Hi, I would be grateful if somebody can help me with this. I worked for a business that my Dad is the Managing Director of during the two tax years 2010/11 and 2011/12. I left in the tax year 2011/12 but I remained on the payroll and I received part of my Dad’s salary through the payroll upto sometime in the tax year 2014/15 I believe (I’m sure 2014/15 is the right tax year but I might have to double check.). During all these five tax years I did not work elsewhere. I want to make sure that I paid the right amount of National Insurance and PAYE during these five tax years as there might be some mistakes with the calculations. Is it too late for me to check these and do anything about them if there are any mistakes as they could possibly be out of date now and too late to do something about them? Thanks -

Hi HMRC Admin 19, Thanks for that. -
RE: Tax
Hi HMRC Admin 8, Thanks for that. Are you absolutely certain then that I don’t need to investigate by finding out how much interest I received from savings in all 12 tax years from tax year 2004/05 up to and including tax year 2015/16? I don’t need to do anything? Thanks -
RE: Tax
Hi, Thank you for that. I said 2004/05 and onwards, not just 2004/05. Does that mean I’m going to have to find out what interest I received in every tax year from 2005/06 up to 2015/16? Thanks -
RE: National Insurance
Hi, I’m confident this is all fine. I’m not asking about this anymore. I just simply want to know if the posts get deleted at some point from this forum because there are other things besides this topic that I’ve posted about and I just want to be able to have the option of accessing the information in the future but if I know that they get deleted then I’ll probably copy and paste the information into a document or something. Again, so that you understand clearly, do the posts get deleted eventually or am I able to access them whenever I want in the future? Thanks -
RE: Tax
Hi, Thanks for that. When did banks and building societies start to automatically notify HMRC of the savings interest please? It sounds like from your answer it has been occurring before tax year 2004/05 and onwards and if that is the case then HMRC would have informed me if I needed to owe any tax from interest. Is this all correct, in other words, there is nothing for me to be concerned about and I don’t need to take any further action? Thanks -
RE: Tax
Hi, I understand that interest from savings may or may not be taxed depending on the amount of interest received in a tax year. I also understand that banks and building societies notify HMRC of the amount of interest received from savings. In terms of the information supplied by banks and building societies, I would like to know if this has been the case for a long time or is that a recent development? The reason I ask is because I want to find out if I owe any tax from savings interest as far back as 2004/05 up to now. Just so you know, I wouldn’t know the amount of interest I received in each of these tax years up to now. Thanks -
RE: National Insurance
Hi, Do you know if I’m able to access these threads easily in the future as a reference point as in will they be saved or do they get deleted at some point? I just want to know so that I have the information that was posted in this thread and others available to me. Thanks
