It’s not the phone lines the problem is an internal error within your system which no one at HMRC seems capable of fixing.
I am on the VAT annual accounting scheme, and registered for MtD in June. However since then when I go to look at my account online I get a message - "We temporarily cannot display your VAT Return details here". When I try to submit a return using bridging software - I get messages stating there is an internal error within the HMRCs system. Ive tried phoning on numerous occasions, tried contacting IT support, lodged complaints, etc, but no one at HMRC seems capable of solving the problem. My annual return is late, and there is no other means to submit it.
Has anybody else had similar problems? How did they resolve it?
