Tax codes Two Jobs
I have been working at a nhs hospital for many years working two shift per week and my tax code was 1257L. I have now started a new job with the nhs in a different trust which will be my main job but still intend to work in both jobs. I have worked in my new job for 7 weeks and noticed my tax code changed for both jobs. I was paying emergency tax S195X on my second job and emergency tax BR on my new job. They had also calculated my earnings to be 28k on my new job and 21k on my old job but I did not start my new job till September so would not earn anywhere near 28k. I have contacted hmrc today and changed my earnings from 21k to 16k on my old job and changed from 28k to 17k on my new job. They have now given me a new tax code for both jobs as the system has split my tax codes. The new job is now S6302T and my old job is now S6195L. They did mention something about week one as well. I have been using this tax code in a tax calculator and is seems to say 63000 tax relief and is showing I would pay no tax in both jobs using the new tax codes. Just looking for some help to see if this looks OK. Many thanks
