Ah ok, I'll claim the whole in one go as it wasnt an expensive van. I presume its ok to do this using cash basis as well as the other option? My first banger work van I didnt bother to claim for as my earnings were so low for several years,

I bought a new (2nd hand) van last tax year, so my expenses are over double the usual amount. surely it would be better to show this in a breakdown rather than just show the amount of expense in one amount? Oddly though, on googling this, I found a thread which stated hmrc are more likely to make an enquiry if you do show a breakdown. This is the opposite of what I'd have thought, as you are being more open and showing expenses in detail. Any advise much appreciated
