RE: Queries for TOR application
Hi, Sorry to keep asking, but TOR is something we're doing for the first time. I have two questions. 1) Long before we left the UK, my wife's father gave her a UK 1910 gold sovereign, a 1975 Krugerrand, and a 1977 Elizabeth II Silver Jubilee crown. The sovereign and the Krugerrand appear to be on the HMRC list of investment gold coins. Do we just declare these on the TOR as we do anything else, or do we need to do something special about them? 2) As you've said before, we can do multiple shipments using a single TOR. Is there anything to stop us submitting two TORs, one for each shipment? The first shipment would be unaccompanied in July and the second would be with us in August (assuming TOR's are approved in time :-) ) Thanks, Pat -
RE: Queries for TOR application
Hi, Our US based shipping company is insisting every time we ask that the TOR should only include the items they're shipping for us, and not the stuff we're bringing ourselves. My understanding from your guidance is to put everything on the TOR. I believe you, not the shippers. Is my understanding correct or should we submit two TORs? What is the official position here so I can show them? Thanks, Pat -
RE: Queries for TOR application
We are British citizens returning to the UK. Most of our goods will be shipped but we're bringing some ourselves. From the answers above, we only submit one TOR application as everything will arrive within the same 12 months. Is this correct? How detailed should the TOR inventory be? I see from the guidance that you don't want us to count forks, for example. Should we include things like purses/wallets, phones, handbags, jackets, backpacks, suitcases that we'll have with us when we land? Obviously we include the contents of bags and suitcases. Essentially, what items do you regard as too trivial to mention? Cheers, Pat
