I have received an activation code from HMRC, but cannot find where I should be activating it. I've followed the instructions by going to the gov.uk/hmrconline page, but cannot find a place to activate it. I'm in poor health (Diabetes, high blood pressure and breathing problems), and have to work from home, therefor I started my own business. I sent off my self assessment, but had no idea about corporation tax. I've read up on it, and believe I should be filling in CT600 forms. Where do I get hold of these. Is there a help line?

Hi Matthew Pascoe,
You may need to enter a 12-digit activation code the first time you use a HMRC service.
You can access HMRC online services by logging in on the gov.uk website at:
HMRC online services: sign in or set up an account
Once you are logged in, you can select the option to file a company tax return online, form CT600, providing HMRC’s free online filing software is suitable for your company.
Once you start the process of filing the company tax return (form CT600) you will have to answer a few questions which will establish whether or not HMRC’s software is suitable for your company.
If you have problems logging on or with your activation code, you can contact HMRC’s online services helpline on 0300 200 3600.
Full contact details are on the gov.uk website at:
Technical support with HMRC online services
If HMRC’s software is not suitable, the company’s tax return (form CT600) will have to be filed online using commercial software. Information about commercial software options can be found on the gov.uk website at:
List of commercial software suppliers for Corporation Tax
Thank you.
