Hello. I had signed a lease of commercial property in my own name before I registered my limited company. The landlord is unwilling to change the lease to the name of the company. I would like to know if the rent could be charged to the company as deductible expenses under the Corporation tax because the company is running business on this property indeed. Many thanks.

Hi,

Yes, rent paid to you by the company is an allowable deduction for Corporation Tax purposes. The rental income will have to be declared in your personal Self Assessment tax returns.

Thank you.
