My partner and I recently opened a business as a partnership in September 2023. We both completed our self-assessment tax returns last December. However, we are uncertain whether we also need to file a partnership tax return. Upon checking our business account, it appears that we do not owe any taxes at the moment. Could anyone please help whether we are required to file a partnership tax return, considering our current circumstances? Thanks!

Hi,

A partnership return will be required to show the overall position and then each partner must also declare their own share.

Set up a business partnership

Thank you.
