A company owned by a non UK resident has setup a bank account in overseas (eg. in Singapore). Will the bank interest be subject to tax? The company has no trading in UK and overseas.

Hi peter chan,
On the assumption the company is incorporated and resident in the UK the bank interest would be subject to Corporation Tax.
It would be a non-trading loan relationship credit.
Please refer to the CT600 guidance notes which are available on our website at:
The Company Tax Return guide
You will see this contains a link to more detailed information at:
CFM32030 - Loan relationships: non-trading profits and deficits
Thank you.

Directors are not UK residents and all operation is located outside the UK. do these qualify for non resident company in the UK?

Hi peter chan,
We would need more information on the company's dealings.
Are they registerd for Corporation Tax(CT) and do they rerquire to pay CT or carry any trades in the UK, for example.
Thank you.
