Hi, I moved to UK 27th March 2023 as a dependent visa holder and was planning to work as a self employed software professional from 1st of April 2023. I registered with HMRC as a self employed through self assessment and received a UTR as well. I received a letter in one or two months asking to file tax before end of January 2024 for the tax year of 2022-2023 which I was not a UK tax resident as I moved to UK only few days before the end of the tax year and I haven't secured any new earnings to report during the few days I was in UK. 1. Considering above facts, should I inform HMRC before Jan 31st Deadline that I'm not filing a tax return due to explained reasons? 2. If not, what is the process I should follow?
