Hi, I am trying to close down my LTD. Prior to sending off an application to strike off the company, I understand that I must write to HMRC notifying them of my intention to apply for strike off and submit final accounts and corporation tax return. I am unable to submit my corporation tax return as the company is less than a year old and has not reached the end of it's accounting period yet. Do I write to HMRC, notifying them of the intention to apply for strike off and stating the date the company stopped trading (allowing them to change the date on their end and therefore able to submit a return before applying for strike off)? Thank you.

Hi,
The age of a company does not prevent a form CT600 being submitted to us.
We would suggest that you advise us of the date your company ceased trading to allow us to update the accounting period that you are going to report on the CT600.
You can do this by either telephoning us on 03000 200 3410 or writing to us at Corporation Tax Services, HMRC, BX9 1AX.
Thank you.
