Hi, I have received a letter from HMRC that I must return the corporation tax return by October 2024. I opened my company on October 2022. Used the company to buy from wholesaler goods for approximately £150, then returned for a refund and later never traded and decided to dissolve the company via strike off after 2 months. I have no access to the filing system anymore as the company is dissolved. So should I worry that I will get penalty for not filing for this dissolved company anyway? If I have to file even if it is dissolved and never traded then how I can proceed? I have no knowledge of doing it. Thanks

Hi,
If the company is dissolved at Companies House it no longer exists and a company tax return is not required.
Dissolutions are usually automatically notified to HMRC by Companies House.
If the notice to deliver a return was issued after the date of dissolution please contact Corporation Tax Services to ensure the dissolution date has been noted on our records.
Thankyou.
