I've made a CGT loss, and entered the relevant calculations in my self-assessment return, which shows the correct loss. So I'm OK with how to file the loss itself. Do I need to fill in some other box that says "I intend to use this loss in future if I have a CGT gain" or does HMRC automatically carry forward this loss for me in case I need to use it?

Hi edmond,
If you are doing a paper tax return, include the loss figure at box 47.
If online, look for the question losses available to be carried forward.
If you make a loss
Thank you.
