Hello, I bought flat #1 in June 2019 outside of the UK. In July 2020 I and my spouse bought building flat #2 outside of the UK where we have never lived. In October 2021 I and my wife moved to the UK and rented a flat there. I sold flat #1 in January 2023 using a letter of power. Flat #1 was the primary residence from June 2019 to October 2021 for me and for my wife and we hadn't lived there since October 2021 and till the sale date. Am I eligible for a "partial" private residence relief for a period from June 2019 to October 2021? Many thanks.

Hi,

On the basis of the information provided, you are entitled to partial Private Residence Relief for the period
during which 'Flat 1' was your main residence.

Thank you.
