Hi there, I have a questions about Capital Gains on Stock Profits in the UK. My Situation: - I recently relocated to the UK from Hong Kong, arriving on 12 May 2023. - I've set up a stock brokerage account with Interactive Brokers and purchased some US stocks. - I'm planning to sell these US stocks, resulting in an estimated profit of £30,000. - I'll achieve tax residency in the UK after 183 days, precisely on 12 Nov 2023. - If I sell the stocks before 12 Nov 2023 and generate a profit, will this profit be subject to capital gains tax? Thank you very much. Regards, Ming

Hi
If the sale occurs whilst you are in the UK then yes you still need to declare the income and be liable for capital gains even if this is before 12/11/23.
