Hi! I am a Ukrainian that moved to the UK in 2022 under the Homes for Ukraine scheme. Currently, I have residence under the Spouse visa scheme as I am married to a UK citizen. I am employed by a UK company and pay income tax / national insurance in the UK. However, I own a flat back in Ukraine. My questions are: 1. If I sold the flat in Ukraine and transferred the money to the UK, would I have to pay CGT? 2. If I sold the flat in Ukraine, and left the money in Ukraine, would I have to pay CGT or register the sale anywhere? 3. If I sold the flat in Ukraine, and bought another flat in Ukraine using the money from the sale, would I have to pay CGT or register the sale anywhere? Any help in understanding this situation is much appreciated!
