Hi stockstunna,
You have to make the decision as to which is appropriate to your circumstances.
We can only give you advice to allow you to make the decision yourself.
Thank you.

Thank you for responding. So far, from your responses I have gathered: - That the individual themselves have to deem themself a 'trader' or 'investor' and decide themselves whether they should be subject to income tax or CGT. When you say: "We can only give you advice to allow you to make the decision yourself" Please can you provide weblinks to all of the relevant HMRC guidance pages specific to CFD trading, so that I can do my own research and come to my own conclusions. Kind regards,

Hi I stopped doing CFD trading after making a huge loss with IG index in 2019 I am thinking of restarting cfd trading. Can I still submit those losses now or am I too late.

Hi, I hold trades for a few minutes, sometimes hours. But max is a day. I speculate on my trades. Would i be viewed as a gambler? Thanks,

Thank you for your response, After reading this guidance, it looks like not all types of CFD trading is taxable. Is this true?

Hi yaseennn1,
No, as you cannot sell it if you do not own it.
Thank you.
