We are in the process of selling a flat which we used to let. We had to go through possession proceedings to remove non-paying tenants in order to be able to sell with vacant possession. Can we offset the legal fees involved against CGT once we've sold, as it was necessary to be able to sell? I've searched but can't find any information about costs like this other than to do with property income on SA returns.
