Pension contributions and cgt

If I pay voluntary contributions into my pension to reduce tax band to basic rate, will my cgt rate reduce from 28% to 18% for sale of a residential property?

Hi jspenc125,
It depends on how much you pay in for the pension and the amount of gain that you have as it will be based on your total income.
