Hi I am trying to complete my SA online and got stuck with the CGT section. I trade futures and options daily with >50 transactions a day. The online form will only let me input the "Gains in the year, before losses" box unless I have filled in the 'Disposal proceeds" box. In previous years when I filed my SA in paper form, I did not fill in the "Disposal proceeds" box but just the "Gains in the year" and "Losses in the year" boxes, and then attached a detailed summary of my computations. Now with this restriction on the online SA form, can I leave all boxes blank in the 'Listed shares and securities' page and make a note of that in the additional information section, and upload my computation in a pdf file to the system instead? Or would you have any other suggestions? Thank you very much

Hi,

No, you need to report the total disposal proceeds and any costs incurred to then show the gains and losses that have occured. You can attach a pdf document to show how you worked out your figures but as you are filing online, there is no manual intervention so this would not be looked at unless your return was selected for a review.

Thank you.
