Capital gains tax account enquiries

I opened capital gain tax on UK property account a few months ago which was wrong due to my carelessness. I haven’t submitted anny return before and I don’t have anything to report. Do I need to notify HMRC to cancel my account? Or is it fine to leave it without file any return? Many thanks.
