Hello, advice needed please :) My parents gifted / transferred their property to myself and my brother approx. 15 years ago. I purchased my first home in 2019 and was advised by the conveyancing solicitor that stamp duty needed to be paid as it was a second property. Should this have been paid? *I have never lived in my parents property *Both parents are still living It was longer than the 4 year period for refunds, so if the tax was incorrectly paid how can I claim it back? Thanks
