If a parent has gifted a £100,000 property to me and paid any CGT that they owe to HMRC and then I subsequently sell the same property for £100,000, am I liable for any CGT? I would assume no but would like some confirmation.

Hi G,
Based on the figures provided, you would not be liable to CGT on the sale of the gifted property.
However, you may wish to use HMRC's CGT calculator to fully check the position.
 Tax when you sell property
Capital Gains Tax: what you pay it on, rates and allowances
Thank you.
