Hi all, I’ve just opened a Capital Gains Tax on UK property account on gov.uk website. I thought it might be easy or straightforward but already the first question has me confused. Am I filling the form in for myself ** ‘yourself’ ? (First option) Or **The estate of a person and the property was sold after they died You’re a personal representative? (Last option) So basically I’m an executor of my fathers will and also a beneficiary, I have just sold his house and need to pay CGT . Is there notes or glossary about filling in this online form that I can refer to ? Best wishes and thank you

Hi ,

If there was a will then you are selling the house as yourself as this would have transferred to you at the date of death.

If no will, you are selling on behalf of the estate .

Thank you .
