Hi. I'm a UK employee but work for a US company. As part of my package, I receive company shares which vest after 3 years. At the point of vesting, shares are withheld to pay for state tax at 49%. When now selling the remaining shares, some more than 5 years old, and some less 3 years old, is tax payable on the proceeds given that tax has already been paid in the US? Or is there an offset process to follow?
