I sold one BTL property in May '22, and at that time used HMRC's on-line CGT calculator to calculate the amount of CGT owed, and paid that amount in full within the 60-day deadline. Now as I complete my '22-'23 SATR, I am required to re-enter all of the exact same figures once again ( relevant to the CGT calculation) , but this time the HMRC SATR calculation is showing that a different amount of CGT is now due ! The difference is that I now appear to owe an additional £125 CGT, even though the exact same figures have been used both times, in HMRC's own tax-calculators. So which figure is correct ??? As far as I can tell (?), the difference appears to be as a result of HMRC showing different 'Income Tax Bands amounts', as shown within the " These figures are based on your Income Tax bands:" section of both of the CGT calculations. Quite why HMRC requires me to re-submit all of the same figures ( into my SATR) that I have already submitted into HMRC's CGT calculator when I paid the CGT is a mystery , but then for HMRC to now come-up with a different amount is just farcical. Can somebody at HMRC please advise which CGT figure is the correct one ? Thank you

Hi
When you did the one in May 22, you will have used estimated figures for your income as the tax year had not ended. for the tax return, you will now have the actual figures and by whatyou have said, these will be slightly higher resulting in more CGT being due.
The one is May was correct at the time but he one from your tax return now overrides this.
