Can any part of the service charges paid on a property, such as that paid into funds used to repair or improve the property be claimed as Capital Gains Tax relief when selling the property. For example money spent on relacing decking on balconies or on improving car parking facilities

Hi Graham Ensell,
Only capital enhancement that would increase the value of your property are allowable. the two referred to would therefore not qualify for this.
Thank you.
