ISAs of the same type

I just found out you can have two of the same type of ISAs opened in the same tax year. Fortunately I looked into the dates I opened them and they were opened in different financial years, are they both allowed? I have been paying into both two, am I allowed to pay into the both in the same year if they were opened in a different year?
