I wasn't aware that a disposal in May 2022 of UK residential property should have been reported by July 2022. I filed my 2022/23 Self-Assessment in October 2023 and included this disposal in full. Should I now still go back and file a CGT Return?

Hi Arti,
Strictly speaking yes, so that you can be charged late filing and late payment penalties and interest, which you can appeal.
This is so that people who declared their gain and paid their tax within 60 days are not disadvantaged by someone circumventing the online service.
Thank you.
