Exchange rates for capital gains tax

I need help with the following. If I completed a sale of foreign shares on 1st november 2023, and i wanted to use the monthly exchange rate from HMRC, which month would i use when calculating the conversion to GBP. would i use the monthly rate for November or October?

You will use November 2023.
