I bought a sterling corporate bond issued by an European bank in a secondary market. The bond has no warrant features nor currency option. I hold it to maturity and have a gain as I buy the bond under par. Do I need to pay capital gain tax on this gain? What happens if there is a loss at maturity?

Hi,
The annual exempt allowance for capital gains tax in 2023 to 2024 is £6000.00.
If your annual gains are below this amount, no tax is payble.
Thankyou.
