Hi, I moved to UK on 10 Dec 2022 and I had the BNO VISA 5+1 successful on 12 Sept 2022. I sold my owned property (my main house and only one) in Hong Kong on 16 June 2023 which is within 9 months after I arrived UK. In this case, do I need to pay the capital gain tax?

Hi,

If the number of months that the property was your main resdience, plus a further 9 months, is greater or equal to the number of months that you owned the property, then there will be no capital gains liability in the UK.

Thank you.
