Hi I am UK resident & I sold my property in Hong Kong by mid-July 2024 (which is my main residence before I moved to UK by late April 2023). Should I need to report HMRC or pay CGT within 60 days as it is not a UK property? Or I just need to report on my self-assessment tax return for the year 2024/25? Many thanks for your help

Hi,

If you already need to complete a tax return, you will declare it on the 2024 to 2025 return.

Thank you
