I recently sold the family home as executor of the estate. I know the amount of capital al gains to pay, however I cannot find any specific online form or information on how exactly to do this. The sale was in excess of £500k so believe this is not classified as simple & I can therefore not use the informal process. As there is a 60 day limit before attarcting interest on the outstanding payment, please help me with exact steps.

I'm afraid your response is not helpful. I am specifically asking you how to submit the CGT assessment as executor on behalf of my late mother's estate. On your website it states "You cannot pay using your account if you’re reporting a gain on behalf of an estate as a personal representative (executor or administrator). HMRC will let you know how to pay after you report the gain." So can you please provide me with more explicit instructions on how to submit the assessment & pay the CGT due.

Hi,
If you are reporting on behalf of someone else, including a trust or estate, you can use your own Capital Gains Tax on UK property account to report for someone else.
You will need proof that you are allowed to report on their behalf, such as a lasting power of attorney. If the person has died, you will need their date of death.

Thank you.
