Hello, I am a UK resident and considering selling shares in a publicly traded company listed on the Hong Kong Exchanges and Clearing Limited (HKEX). I purchased shares in the same company on two different occasions, but I no longer have the original documentation for these purchases. My securities company can only provide transaction records from the past 7 years, but I have held the stock for longer than that. 1. How should I report the purchase date and price for CGT purposes when I have incomplete records for both purchases? 2. Would the **share pooling** method apply in this case, and how can I accurately calculate my CGT liability if I’m missing some historical purchase information?

Hi,
You would need to check with the Stock Exchange for the original purchase price.
Thank you.
