Hi, I'd just like some clarification on the wording above please for completing my self assessment regarding capital gains on shares. The expanded help states: "You must report your capital gains and attach your computations if in the tax year either: - you disposed of chargeable assets which were worth more than £50,000" So I'd just like to know if the £50,000 figure is per asset or for the total of all assets in that class? For example, I've bought and sold lots of shares in different companies. If you add up all the sales for all the companies, the total amount exceeds £50000, but not for one single company (or asset I guess). Thanks

Hi,
It is the total.
Thank you.
