I have a Mesher order in place from 2021 when the family home was put into trust with my ex wife living in the property rent free until the trigger event. I will get 30% of the gain from the sale, with my ex wife getting the remainder. After the divorce I bought a family home with my new wife. That event has now passed and the house is up for sale. I have read all the guidance but I am still unsure if I will need to pay CGT as the examples given don't match my own.

Please refer to: HS281 Capital Gains Tax civil partners and spouses (2024).
If this does not answer your query, you will need to call 0300 200 3300.
Thank you.
